US congressional workplaces have been warned against setting up the AI app DeepSeek, Axios reported on Thursday, pointing out a notification issued by the chief administrative officer of the US House of Representatives.

According to Axios, the notification stated, “At this time, DeepSeek is under evaluation by the CAO and is currently unauthorized for official House usage.”

The emergence of DeepSeek, a low-cost Chinese AI design, has raised issues about its possible to challenge the marketplace dominance of US-based AI giants like OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.

Recently, DeepSeek introduced a free AI assistant that it declares runs with lower data use and at a portion of the expense of US designs.
