Responsible for all HV isolations and maintenance, as well as providing training to the electrical techs to help gain them experience required achieving the level of authorisation required for their job role. I am also responsible for the power generation and switching on board the installation including the reinstatement of power after shutdown, etc.
I am also responsible for the electrical authorisation of other trades on board, which outlines the level of authorisation and restrictions placed on the individual.
Other duties in my current role also include the creation of a 7-day work plan for the electrical department and sending daily reports to the maintenance supervisor. I am involved with review of work packs for electrical modifications and new installations carried out on board. Planned maintenance, breakdowns and Ex inspections also form part of the day-to-day tasks assigned to me in my current job role, as well as the supervision of electrical techs, contractors, specialist vendors and liaising with the appropriate onshore technical authorities on a daily basis. -
